Dear Robin,

The power and effort needed to fly a plane once it is in the air is minimal.  Getting it off the ground, however, takes enormous effort.

This applies to any project, goal, or passion you are pursuing in your own life.  To be successful and get maximum results from your effort, you must lay the groundwork properly in the beginning to insure that you get off the ground.

You'll achieve success with much less long term effort and enjoy the flight.

I've included some tips this month to help you lay the groundwork to organize your life wherever you need it.  And reward yourself with a good meal afterwards!

10 Coaching Beliefs To Inspire You
You become what you believe!
Girl thinking by water

1.  You are Unique.

No one else is quite like you.  It is up to you to discover your potential and achieve your own personal greatness - being the best you can be, living your own life with passion and purpose.

2.  Your Entire Life is your message.

There is a balancing act in living your best life.  Three important elements necessary to creating balance are: your enjoyment (the things that make you happy), finding purpose and meaning to your life, and achieving balance in every area of your life.  You must take a holistic approach to getting your life in order to reap the maximum benefits.

3.  You Hold Your Own Agenda.

Change starts with what YOU want more of or less of in your life.  You will not enter into the process whole heartedly if the motivation for change comes from someone else's agenda for your life.  Never choose change to please someone else.

4.  You've Got the Resources.

You have all the resources you need to succeed inside you - determination, creativity, flexibility, knowledge, intuition to name a few.  Coaching helps you uncover those resources and helps you acquire new ones along the way.

5.  You are Capable of GREAT Results.

Push your limits - expand your boundaries.  Remember how good you felt when you surprised yourself by what you could achieve?  Try to harness the energy of those moments when you achieve maximum results so you are constantly moving higher and higher and achieving more than you ever thought possible.

6.  You've Got The Solution.

The perfect solution is always within you - you just have to bring them to light!  Give yourself permission to explore options, play with ideas and solutions until you get the right fit.

7.  There is No Judgment.

No "shoulds" "oughts" or "musts" allowed.  You need to suspend judgment about what seems to be right or wrong about your life.  Look at situations and problems in a neutral manner.  You free yourself from the powerful influences of self criticism and doubt and can tune in to what is really going on.

8.  You Can Make Powerful Choices.

The feeling that you are stuck in a dead end situation without any choice is a miserable feeling.  You can feel trapped in a job you hate because you are afraid you don't have the skills or knowledge to get a better one.  Or maybe you are stuck in a dead end relationship that you know is bad for you, but you fear you won't be able to find anyone else.  Trust that you can come up with new choices that move you forward in unexpected ways.  Choices don't always have to be big, bold moves.  Smaller choices can be just as powerful in moving you forward toward your goals.

9. Take Responsibility for Your Results.

Taking action for change doesn't guarantee a first time at bat home run.  There's a real possibility that some of those options won't give you the result you want.  You will increase your self awareness and learn to prepare yourself for the next challenge.  Chang eis not easy.  Sometimes you'll feel like you're getting nowhere fast.  Keep taking positive action, take responsibility for the results of your actions - don't give up.  Your patience WILL be rewarded.

10.  Trust Yourself.

Don't rely solely on your conscious mind to think through your problems and design your strategies.  Take note of your other senses as well.  What do you feel?  What images arise or are associated with whatever problem you are dealing with?  All your senses can give you clues on a subconscious level about the options you can take and the actions that are right for you.  Trusting your senses takes time and practice.  Be open to simply notice what is going on in your feelings and in your physical body - and you'll begin to make connections that give you real answers.  Feel the "gut reaction" and listen to what it is telling you.
