Slower and Smoother

My close friend and business associate has been having computer problems lately. Her computer was infected by a virus, apparently brought in via adware. It started off as a minor irritation but gradually infected her system to the point where it had to be professionally diagnosed and treated. She mentioned to me how sometimes our lives get infected by all our “stuff” – just like the computer virus. When people, places and things that begin as minor problems are left undiagnosed and unattended to, they can eventually mutate into “viruses” which infect our attitudes and impair our ability to get the most out of life.

Like the virus protection software we install on the computer to detect and disarm viruses, we need a system of checks and balances to keep the small stuff from creating “dis-ease” in our day to day life! Prioritizing and saying no to anything that doesn’t fit with your vision of how you want your life to be enables you to stay healthy, happy and virus free! Contact me for a free assessment and find out how you can do less and enjoy more.

Imagine your life in order!

Slower and Smoother = Faster and Better

I received this email recently from Melanie Strick of SuccessConnections.com which I’d like to share with you. As an entrepreneur I’m very much aware that working smarter is so much more important than working harder, but I don’t always follow my own advice. (What’s up with that anyway?) Regardless of where you are or what you are doing – ask yourself this question:
Charity Note

Have you been considering community service but don’t know where to start? Is your life busy but missing something meaningful? Consider volunteering at Eastside Baby Corner. This is a 100% volunteer charity that serves children in need on the Eastside. They have volunteer opportunities for everyone! For more information, please visit their website at www.babycorner.org or call (425) 865-0234.

Cushy Cupboards

I’ve recently discovered a must have for your cupboards! It’s called Cushy Cupboards (www.cupboardliner.com). A representative contacted me recently and sent me a sample and it is great stuff. Don’t start any cabinet or drawer organization project until you line the surface with this product. It’s amazing. It works especially well on those wire shelving units found in most new construction homes. It comes on a roll and is easy to cut and slide into place. No sticky adhesive or rubber that wrinkles or rolls. It’s water resistant, easy to clean and so simple to install – just cut and place. It’s made of recycled material and is very inexpensive. Visit their website or contact service@cupboardliner.com for more information.

Is this your best year yet?

Let me ask differently... is this your best year yet in all areas of your life? (I know, that one’s tougher to answer.) I heard someone say recently, “Most people die with their music still in them.” There’s something sad about that. It’s as if we know we have so much more in us, but... Here’s what Melanie has to say:

Success Connections Tip

I’ve seen it too many times. Successful people being bogged down by the daily grind. So much so that they limit themselves. They’re so lost in working hard that, at the end of the day, don’t have the bandwidth to get bigger. Too busy to think of their bigger vision.

At what cost?

Sometimes it’s hard to see past the daily work to see your life as a whole. And Time passes and your legacy is still in you.

The solution may surprise you.

If you want to get more done... do less.  Yep – it’s crazy.  Here’s a
formula my clients balk at when they first hear it – until they experience it firsthand.

Slower + Smoother = Faster

If you want to free yourself so you can focus more time on your big vision, create space in your life. Create down time. Take a day off every week to just recharge. Here’s how:

  • Eliminate tasks off your plate.
  • Utilize others. Leverage others better so you create a stronger team supporting you and your work.
  • Do more of what you are uniquely qualified to do. Do less of what you are not uniquely qualified to do.
  • Give yourself permission to dream big.
  • Think about what kind of legacy you want to leave behind
Again, slower + smoother = faster (and better!)

“Thank God every morning when you get up that you have something to do that day, which must be done
whether you like it or not.”
– James Russell Lowell
